we were in the process of juicing tomatoes when mom and gma got here. the electric juicer leaves more liquid than i think it should so we put the pulp through the hand juicer thingy from the good old days. we can get a few more quarts of juice from each batch this way. so far we have 17 qts put up. the bushels we got from the farm were not all ripe so we are doing them in batches and adding some from our own garden. you can see them spread out on the counter waiting to get ripe. gma is eating her fill of homegrown tomatoes. last year we got about 15 qts per bushel. I am trying to break that record this year, but so far we are about even. i should order about 2 or three more bushels if they have them. wouldn't it be nice to have enough tomato juice til next summer?
