food in the studio

we took food two weeks ago and did styling and pictures. At first I was going to buy something to photograph, but I ended up having time to bake great grandma's sugar cookies.
I had seen a photograph of cookies that I really liked and tried to do a similar set up.
Then I used this plate I got from Target and tried something else. I wish I had used a white napkin under the plate, but no one sells white cloth napkins that I could find. I wasn't as happy with this picture because it is so busy, but I'm glad I tried it.
Food photography is interesting. I may look into this more for a job.

  1. I have white cloth napkins. They're damask (jacquard?), not plain white, but they do exist. Check JCPenney if you think you'll need them again. These tone on tone checked ones come in white: http://m.jcpenney.com/mobile/jsp/browse/product.jsp?_DARGS=/mobile/jsp/browse/ppThumbnail.jsp_AF&_dynSessConf=7537669223092018641&deprtId=dept20000011&ppId=pp5002701115&sub_catId=&dimCombo=&/com/jcpenney/profile/bean/UserSessionBean.currentResultIndex=5&subcat_Id=&currIndx=5&cateId=cat1003590007&_D%3A/com/jcpenney/profile/bean/UserSessionBean.currentResultIndex=+
