I found THE wig at a party store but couldn't pay $25 for it. I found this one at Joann for 70% off. Much better and it looks pretty cool.
This costume was easy and he liked it. I painted the hearts on and added straps to the top. The ears weren't hard either, I used pipe cleaners inside and hot glued them to the headband. I found a watch at hobby lobby and added it to a chain I had.
I will have to get a picture opf the dress later. She was ready to go as soon as the wig was on. I thought it turned out good, but I think it was hard for her to wear. The eyebrows crack me up. I think I over did them!
Claire wore this for her school party. The bloomers fit great. No one knew who she was. She did not put the black shirt on until after she got home. It was cold and wet.
I'm loving this one. I don't think I can top it and may just retire as a costumer after this. The hat was awesome, I can't believe I made it! I made the hat pins and everything. Love it! I got ankle boots at the thrift store, the jacket, pants and tie too. I added the lace and ribbons the the cuffs, cut the pants off, made the tie out of funky culottes, added ribbon and scrap material to the pockets. I had planned to make the thread thing that hung across his chest and fingerless gloves, but that didn't get made.
We considered cutting the wig, but I'm glad we didn't.
We blacked his teeth so he had a gap even. The makeup took about and hour according to him, but I don't think it was that long. His friends were wowed and he was in his element. He had volunteered to be the Mad Hatter last year and it did great.
Forgot the choker before. She hated it. I'm sure this costume will be worn but Claire in a few years, but never again by Em. I think next year she won't dress up. She was a good sport this year and over came her irritation to let me dress her up. They all looked just like I had envisioned them looking. William dresses up as Cap'n Jack again and Amanda was a cat. They went to Wal-mart and bought candy instead of coming with us. We ended up not trick or treating because of the weather, but we did stop and get candy.and came home to watch a movie.
