One of my sewing friends is making a quilt for another friend who as been undergoing cancer treatment for a couple years! I can't imagine. She has 5 kids. Only 2 are not special needs. She is a Dr but can't work because of her illness. Her husband works long hours and most of the time can't be with her when she is at the hospital. She has many friends who help with kids, fix meals and do lots for her, but she wants to be able to do things for her kids herself. My heart aches for her to be going through treatment for so long and all the side effects from that treatment that cause even more illness. She was just in the hospital with pneumonia a few weeks ago. I can't imagine being so ill. She did home school her kids, but they are all in public school now. Lots of us moms from the sewing list sent blocks for the quilt. Our friend is hoping to be able to deliver this quilt instead of mailing it. I hope she is able. I had made these 6" blocks a few years ago. I sewed 4 together to make it large enough. I think it turned out ok, for not being a quilter.
